Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Large Format Printing

Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Large Format Printing

At Coloursonic we believe it is our responsibility to do everything we can to reduce our environmental impact. We’re constantly working on ways to offer sustainable print solutions. Therefore, we have invested in the SwissQprint Nyala 4 to enhance our printing service, allowing us to create sustainable and eco-friendly custom displays, signage, and branded advertising content on a wide range of media. The Nyala is the largest and most powerful model in the SwissQprint range. It is known for its premium print quality, multifunctionality and efficiency. This printer has opened exciting opportunities for our business, printing up to 3.2mtrs wide so we can take on bigger and better jobs. We are truly excited about what the future has in store for both our clients and our team.

LED UV Printing

The environmentally friendly fourth-generation Nyala is considered to be the ‘benchmark in large format printing’. The printer is built with certified energy efficiency according to ISO standard 20690. The UV LED system consumes an average of 2.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity and has reduced operating costs in comparison to your traditional print technology. The UV LED technology requires neither heating for drying processes nor ventilation for extracting volatile pollutants (VOC). The instant on/off functionality reduces standby consumption between jobs and reduces overall C02 emissions. The instant drying time process means there isn’t a need for any set of powder spray, which releases harmful chemicals. Nyala achieves a maximum resolution of 1350 dpi, with an output of up to 206m2/h. This enables us to reproduce your artwork faster than your standard printer, in turn reducing energy consumption.

Eco-friendly UV Inks

Although the machine has 9 colour channels with a customised configuring that can be changed at any time, we use only 8 at Coloursonic. The colour inks we use include CMYK standard (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key), Light Cyan, Light Magenta, White and Varnish. We are proud to say all of our inks from swissQprint are Greenguard Gold certified. This means they have low chemical emissions and are vegan friendly.

Printing on recycled materials

We provide our customers with a range of recycled and FSC papers and are proactive when it comes to recycling material waste. We also try to reuse off-cuts where we can. You can also read our environmental policy for further information regarding our environmental practices.

Eco-Friendly Printing Solutions

When considering eco-friendly printing materials, we are your go to printers. We offer a wide variety of recyclable and PVC-free printing solutions. At Coloursonic we are delighted with the success of our investment, and we understand sustainability is core to all businesses.
